AZA Fashions Pvt. Ltd. is the brainchild of Atul and Alka Nishar.

AZA Fashions was founded in 2004 as a premium retailer to merchandise the best of Indian couture. The first store spread over 5,000 square feet opened at Mumbai’s most up market address – Altamount Road. The second store spread over 3,500 square feet opened at Delhi’s fashion destination – Crescent at the Qutab.

AZA houses over 30 of the top Indian designers. This includes Rohit Bal, Sabysachi Mukerjee, Anamika Khanna, Manish Malhotra and many many more. Customers include the who’s who of Delhi and Mumbai. Events at the AZA store and promoter Alka Nishar are regularly featured in fashion journals such as Vogue India, L’Officiel, etc. AZA is a major player at the Fashion Weeks and last year they were the biggest buyers as well. AZA is the official co-sponsor at the Lakme Fashion Week since the last few years. They have also sponsored the annual Fashion Awards.

The inspiration was three fold. From Africa it was the countries of Sudan and Ghana both known for their colour and prints; from America it was the underground movement of the 1970s and from Paris it was the roaring 20s era.
