As Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, celebrates her 38th birthday today, we thought of doing a #tbt in honour of the one time she wore an Anita Dongre tea-length dress and, even played cricket in it.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\r\n

Kate has been under the spotlight for playing far too many roles: a modern, real-life princess, philanthropist, mother of future throne bearers and an unbeatable style icon. Much like her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, her sartorial sense has always been under the fashion radar and has been lauded to dress exactly like a royal persona.\u00a0It came as no surprise when she picked the\u00a0Anita Dongre<\/a>\u00a0dress that checked all the criteria for the royal dress code.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

The dress and the impact of her wearing it was so profound that for most Indian, it is perhaps the only image that comes to mind when we think of Prince William and Kate's India tour - this is regardless of the fact that she wore heels and played cricket, too.
