Designer Anushree Reddy started off as a wedding trousseau label and has become one of the\u00a0leading names in bridal fashion.\u00a0Marking a decade in fashion, designer Anushree Reddy has managed to work with some of the biggest names in\u00a0Bollywood and Hollywood.\u00a0With\u00a0her delicately feminine designs, Anushree Reddy has outdone herself time\u00a0and again with multiple collections\u00a0that strike the perfect balance for a modern Indian bride.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With\u00a0her signature being the\u00a0Hyderabadi zardozi\u00a0and\u00a0cutdana\u00a0work, it's clear as day that Anushree dedicates\u00a0her work to the city it all started in.\u00a0Anushree Reddy's designs have been bringing luxury couture dreams to life for all the brides with its contemporary\u00a0colour\u00a0combinations and designs that make our hearts skip a beat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In an exclusive t\u00eate-\u00e0-t\u00eate with Aza, designer Anushree Reddy\u00a0talks\u00a0about her journey so far and how she plans to introduce her latest collection with the launch of her new store.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aza:\u00a0How would you describe your first decade in the fashion industry?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Anushree Reddy<\/strong>:\u00a0Absolutely phenomenal, hence our hashtag #10YearsPhenomenal, because nothing defines the decade better. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest celebrities in the country, had the opportunity to venture into bridal wear, won awards and accolades that\u00a0have\u00a0helped me\u00a0to\u00a0push the envelope further, learned so much along the way from my peers, competitors, team members, everyone! A decade later and we\u2019re all set to open our\u00a0multi-storeyed\u00a0store in Hyderabad with the launch of our new western line, so there\u2019s plenty to be thankful for!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aza:\u00a0When did you know you wanted to start your own bridal couture label?<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Anushree Reddy:<\/strong>\u00a0I began my journey as a trousseau designer,\u00a0designing ensembles for the bride\u2019s mother, sister,\u00a0and\u00a0bridesmaids\u00a0-\u00a0basically\u00a0everyone who was an integral part of the celebration. Gradually,\u00a0people\u00a0began to love what they see, especially the modern, minimalist brides who didn\u2019t want something too heavy for their big day. They wanted to keep it elegant while being comfortable. Noticing the demand for bridal couture, I then gradually moved into creating what brides loved.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Aza:\u00a0Cutdana\u00a0and Hyderabadi\u00a0zardozi\u00a0embroidery have become your signature. What draws you to it?\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Anushree Reddy:<\/strong>\u00a0I personally find\u00a0them\u00a0both very appealing.\u00a0I come from Hyderabad, so it is\u00a0like a tribute to my heritage.\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s probably why I\u2019m so drawn toward\u00a0these. Also, the beauty of\u00a0zardozi\u00a0is that it\u2019s timeless and yet we can create newer, more minimal versions of it to keep it looking modern. It might seem too heavy or chaotic, but that\u00a0is\u00a0the exact perception that\u00a0I want to change with my work.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Can you give us a glimpse into your creative process? How do you design your classic bridal outfit?\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Anushree Reddy: <\/strong>My creative process is all teamwork with the bride. Everything about the outfit is\u00a0customized -\u00a0from the fabric to the embroidery,\u00a0right down to the finer details\u00a0that are\u00a0added to the dupatta. I first try to get a hang of what the bride has in mind, then draw my inspiration from anywhere and everywhere that I can discover floral patterns, which is our signature style. This is followed by sketching it out with all the intricacies added in,\u00a0and we then begin working on the final product. Between all of this, we have fabric selection,\u00a0colour\u00a0selection, and more, with a prime goal that whatever we are creating should be in vogue even 10 years from now. A decade later, it shouldn\u2019t look redundant.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

Aza:\u00a0Could you tell us something about your upcoming collection?\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Anushree Reddy:<\/strong>\u00a0The lockdown gave us plenty of time to brainstorm, research, and plan ahead, owing to which,\u00a0we\u2019re now working on an extensive collection comprising\u00a0of\u00a0bridal wear, trousseau\u00a0edits,\u00a0daily ethnic wear, western wear, and more.\u00a0What\u2019s standing out this season though,\u00a0is our western wear, because it\u2019s the first time we\u2019re blending traditional with trendy to design simpler, casual wear.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>It\u2019s all going to be designed with floral prints,\u00a0zardozi\u00a0handwork,\u00a0and more. We\u2019re looking forward to launching it with the new store launch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
