Every Gaurav Gupta collection begins with a question, and this one was almost mythic in scale: where does light actually come from? The answer became a three-act love story between the solar and the lunar, two forces that, in Indian cosmology, are never rivals but companions, meeting briefly, brilliantly, in eclipse. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It's a continuation of the House's Paris Haute Couture outing, The Divine Androgyne<\/em>, which explored balance within the self. Light Song simply widened the lens, from the body to the universe around it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunar: Midnight, Craters, and a Little Bit of Gothic Romance<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The opening act moved in dark greys, ivy greys, midnight blues and blacks, punctuated by what can only be described as crater light, that soft, cratered shimmer you'd associate with a moon surface caught mid-glow. Think fluid drapes, reflective metallics engineered like the inner mechanics of a timepiece, and sculpted lace edging into gothic, art nouveau territory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If Lunar was restraint, Solar was radiance turned all the way up. Drawing from Surya as the life-giving force and the sculptural grandeur of Odisha's Konark Sun Temple, this act arrived in zardosi, gold tissue, gota patti and richly woven metallic brocades. Jewellery-inspired embellishment and cascading crystal work nodded to Indian ceremonial dressing, while five new bridal lehengas reframed what a modern GG bride could look like. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Huda Beauty helmed the runway makeup with its new Liquid Matte Mousse, while\u00a0Kerastase\u00a0and hairstylist Laurent Philippon built luminous, fluid hair using the Gloss Absolu range.
