Pure silk handwoven scarf
This black and white scarf is handwoven by traditional artisans in the comforts of their home, at their own pace in a remote village of india. Clamp dyeing is a traditional resist dyeing technique that requires extensive practise. The artisan folds the fabric multiple times and compresses it between two identical wooden blocks (cut in geometric shapes) with metal clamps. The fabric is then dyed in a vat using natural colors. The variations in dyeing lend this fabric its own uniqueness.
The fabric takes 30 to 45 days to be Handwoven on a traditional handloom, while the dyeing takes 12 to 15 days.
