Diana Penty in Bhumika Sharma Lehenga Set

Since then, she has continued pushing boundaries, as is evident in her diverse movie choices such as Happy Bhag Jayegi and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran. And that’s not all for our cover star! She has also impressed the audience and fashion critics with her recent appearances at the Cannes Film Festival and Paris Haute Couture Week. The Celebration Issue
Shriya Saran is in a happy space. The actor’s last project, Drishyam 2 entered the 200-crore club, she has a pan-India film Kabzaa lined up for release. And in conversation with Aza, Shriya revealed she’s working on a children’s apparel line – an ode to her daughter, Radha. For obvious reasons, the actor is an apt muse for Aza’s Celebration Issue. The Dopamine Issue
If there’s one word I could use to describe the livewire that’s Nushrratt Bharuccha, it’s “Filmi” – yes, with a capital “F”. But we also love that she takes time to “do nothing” between projects, to shed the heaviness of a role once it’s completed so she can return to being the bubbly, cutely melodramatic and decisive Nushrratt we all adore. She follows her heart and how! And for that, it was a no-brainer for us to choose the actor as our muse for Aza’s Happiness Issue. In conversation with Aza, Nushrratt opens up on cinema, relationships and more. Also in the issue: luxury designer Aisha Rao on celebrating nature as a work of art, ace designers on inclusivity in fashion, wedding diaries of real Aza brides, and three body positivity influencers we love.

The Sustainability Special
The 10th issue of the Aza Magazine is based on a simple premise: everything is ephemeral, but some things are more permanent than others. Like our love for classic silhouettes. Sure, we have rejigged these classics with hints of contemporary elements to make them more fitting of 2021's fashion lexicon, and even that is a testament to their indelibility. If anything, the time spent in solitude has inspired designers to revive them and present them to their new audience in mod ways they can relate. While the pandemic has piqued our creativity, it has also lead to a sense of appreciation for things we've taken for granted, the planet being number one on that list. Perhaps why putting Dia Mirza, the actress, the producer, and the activist, on the cover of this issue was a no-brainer. If she doesn't embody the spirit of fighting for the greater good, we don't know who does.

Couture is Not Cancelled
In this issue, we are celebrating couture instead of relegating it unimportant. We are shifting focus away from one-time-wear garments to high-quality, handcrafted creations that can be treasured, repeated, and passed down through generations - because, in a world that's so fast-changing, these pieces of sartorial wonder are the only ones bearing any semblance to permanence. With us is our cover star, Mrunal Thakur, who embodies the spirit of a bride who is as new-age as she is a traditionalist.

The Empowerment Issue
As we welcome a new decade, it has become more important than ever to talk about subjects that are close to our hearts. And if fashion is a reflection of the current zeitgeist, there's no time like now to introduce the world to our 8th volume - The Empowerment Issue. Emblazoning our cover is Sania Mirza, who talks about balancing motherhood and making a comeback in tennis. Alongside her are 7 other women - Anita Dongre, Raja Kumari, and Garima Arora to name a few - each a heavy-hitter in their respective field who are also emblematic of the spirit of the new-age women we idolize. And while we are at it, we also threw in the latest trends in fashion that are worthy of deciding the contents of a modern woman's closet.
