Get ready as fashion week is happening for the first time ever in Bhutan. Starting from October 27 to November 1st, 2025, we are going to see an exciting showcase of the country’s heritage through fashion. Organised by the Bhutan’s Department of Media, Creative Industry and Intellectual Property, in collaboration with the Royal Textile Academy, the event will open Bhutanese textiles, designs and creativity to the global audience.
What to Expect from Bhutan Fashion Week
Held at Samdrup Jongkhar, Zhemgang and Trongsa, the event will ultimately happen in Thimplu city. The Bhutan Fashion week will redefine it traditional handicrafts for the global audience. With around 21 designers showcasing their talent, you can expect raw, creative designs stemming from Bhutanese heritage.
Fashion Designers to Showcase at the Bhutan Fashion Week
Up until now 11 designers have been confirmed to display their designs at fashion week. Designers like Chimi Lhakyi, Dolma, Tshering Choden, Peldon, Pema Choki, Sangay Choden, Dorji Zangmo, Tashi Zangmo, Chandrika Tamang, Gaymit Safa Lepcha, Leena D Ghalley and Choney Dema are among the first to be announced. The lineup promises a blend of Bhutanese traditional textiles with modern cuts, bold colors, and innovative silhouettes, making the event a true celebration of cultural heritage meeting global fashion trends. With more names expected to be revealed soon, anticipation is building for what is shaping up to be one of Bhutan’s most glamorous and creative showcases of the year.
