About Aza Designer Nachiket Barve 

Raising the bar high with his creativity and fashion forward style: Nachiket Barve studied apparel and accessory design at National Institue of Design (NID) in Ahemdabad after completing his graduation in Economics. He realized fashion was his calling and he couldn’t have been more right. Later, he won a French Government scholarship to study at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (E.N.S.A.D) and learnt various handmade techniques working under haute couture ateliers. Nachiket Barve has interned with Michael Kors, Celine, textile designer Neeru Kumar, and he completed his final project under the guidance of well-known designers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. His bespoke label, ‘Nachiket Barve’ was launched in March 2007 at the Lakme Fashion Week’s Gen Next platform. Aza launched Nachiket’s gen next collection at the Altamount Road store in Mumbai, and has retailed all his new collections ever since. Nachiket Barve’s commendable achievements: Nachiket Barve was the first ever Indian designer to show his collection at Buenos Aires Fashion Week (BAFWEEK) in Argentina and Coterie in New York. His work has been appreciated and written about by fashion critics such as Suzy Menkes and Carine Roitfeld. He was the winner of the “Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year” award from the British Fashion Council and Elle. His designs have been included in the book, Contemporary Indian Design. Nachiket Barve has also designed costumes for Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan for a television commercial for Tanishq Jewels. Apart from this, he has been invited to present his creations at various prestigious events such as the Alchemy festival and Caravan 2014.
