Longstanding, versatile and unique:Krishna Mehta established her eponymous label for men and women in 1990, after gaining some experience in the family business of garment exports around 1982. A stalwart in the Indian fashion industry, she was the first Indian menswear designer and has had the distinction of showcasing her collections during the Milan Fashion Week in 2004. Krishna Mehta has worked with design houses like Marc o'Polo, Flash, Indiska and also with Gitanjali Lifestyle as a Chief Operating Officer (COO). She has been a board member for the Fashion Design Council of India as well as Lakme Fashion Week.
Multiple award winning designer collections that empower Indian communities: Krishna Mehta was awarded the CMAI (Clothing Manufacturers Association of India) award in 2004 for The Best Designer in the Menswear category, the Times of India Award in 2005 in recognition of usage of natural and khadi fabrics and the “Pride of Gujarat “award in recognition of work done in the field of designing of textiles and apparels. She has also been awarded the Fabled Peacock award in 2001 from the Government of Gujarat, in recognition of her service rendered to the cause of helping the earthquake victims. An avid proponent for community development, Krishna Mehta has set up a block printing unit to form a means of employing deaf & dumb and physically handicapped men and women, making them self-reliant.
